Elderly People in CR.

The elderly people group is growing up each day, as we know the modern families don´t have many children for this reason the young people group is smaller than years ago and the elderly people group is bigger nowadays. When we go to the downtown, hospitals or when we travel to mountain hotels or beaches is very common to see elderly people in those places. It is notable also in the schools because few children are arriving to  them,  years ago some schools have two schedules(morning-afternoon); now  schools have only a single schedule and it is enough for all the community’s children.

Most elderly people live with their family and some of them live in elderly homes. In our country they have the same rights than young people, but some families prefer to pay a place where specialized people like nurses, doctors and nutritionists take care of them. Also the government has some public places. Some elderly people suffer violent situations, in these cases the CONAPAN is the identity in charge.
